Additional Information

One of the oldest dance groups at Binghamton University, Children’s Dance Theatre is a student-produced ensemble that is established each September through auditions for both dancers and student choreographers. The members of the company choreograph a varied program to combine the many different cultural backgrounds and dance interests of the members; the various styles of dance include lyrical ballet, modern, tap, and hip hop. With its program created, Children’s Dance Theatre travels to area elementary schools to perform in school assemblies and also holds a week of free performances for school children, culminating in a public performance, on the BU campus. The aim of these performances is to expose the children of Greater Binghamton to the art of dance.
