WTSN 103 Technical Communications 1: Reverse engineering of a mechanical alarm clock including functional decomposition, 3D modeling of every part, and a proposal for a modification to serve a deaf client (see PDF downloads). Models and drawings were created with Solid Edge.
ME 481 Computer Aided Engineering: 3D modeling and drawings of a gate valve, starting from rough isometric illustrations. Created with Pro/ENGINEER.
ME 392 Machine Design: A manual tank drive system to allow movement of a mobile scaffolding unit from the elevated platform. The full report includes problem description, design drawings, torque calculations, and finite element analysis. Created with Pro/ENGINEER.
ME 481 Computer Aided Engineering: Determination of maximum stresses and factors of safety in a simple landing gear mechanism during retract and landing. This project included 3D modeling, kinematic simulation, and stress analysis using Pro/ENGINEER.
ME 494 Senior Capstone: A year-long design project sponsored by Raymond Corporation, three general approaches to storing compressed hydrogen on a forklift were explored; #1 traditional pressure cylinders, #2 nested high pressure tubing, and #3 welded box tubing. The final presentation and 250 page report are available for download in PDF.
